Photo Recovery & File Restorer Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2025
Welcome to Photo Recovery & File Restorer (hereinafter referred to as the "App"). Protecting your personal information and privacy is our core responsibility. This policy details how we obtain, manage, and protect your information, as well as the controls you have over its processing. By using this App, you acknowledge and accept its entirety.
I. Scope of Policy
This Privacy Policy covers the processing of your information when you use all features of this App on your mobile device, including but not limited to photo, video, and audio recovery services. If you are redirected to a third-party service through this App, please refer to the third-party's privacy policy for its information processing rules.
II. Types and Scenarios of Information Collection
We only collect information necessary to provide our services, as follows:
(I) Information Collected to Provide Core Services
² Storing Related Information
To perform file recovery, this App needs to access your device's storage to scan and identify deleted photos, videos, and audio files. These operations are performed entirely locally on your device; neither the original files nor the recovered files are uploaded to our servers.
Storage-related information we may obtain includes: file format, deletion timestamp, and file path (used only to locate recoverable content).
² Basic Device Parameters
To ensure the proper functioning of the app, we collect information such as device model, operating system version, and installed app version. This data is used only to adapt to different devices and fix compatibility issues and does not contain any personally identifiable information.
(II) Information Collected to Optimize the Service Experience
² Usage Behavior Data
This includes visit duration, single session duration, page/function dwell time, and visit frequency. This data is anonymized and used only to analyze service shortcomings and improve functional efficiency.
² Permission Usage History
When you enable or disable a permission (such as storage permission or foreground service permission), we will record the permission status changes to troubleshoot functional anomalies (such as restore failure due to permission disabling) and provide permission setting instructions if needed.
(III) Description of Specific Permissions
This app requires the FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC permission on Android 14 and above.
This permission is used to enable the app to monitor device file system changes in real time through a foreground service. This allows for timely notifications and recovery support when users' photos, videos, audio, documents, and other files are accidentally deleted. This is critical to ensuring the proper functioning of the core file recovery functionality.
Disabling this permission will render the app incompatible with Android 14 and higher, preventing the foreground service from being enabled. This will affect the integrity of the file recovery functionality, leaving only basic scanning and recovery functionality functional. This will directly degrade the user experience in the event of accidental file deletion.
III. Information Usage Rules
We use the collected information only for the following lawful purposes, adhering to the principle of minimum necessary:
² Ensuring service availability
Using device parameters to ensure the app runs properly on different device models and completing the core file recovery process through storage access permissions.
² Improving service quality
Optimizing feature design based on anonymous usage data.
² Security and Compliance Requirements
In the event of a network attack or unexpected app crash, device logs will be used to locate the issue. Upon receiving a legal request, necessary non-personally identifiable information will be provided in accordance with the law.
IV. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We strictly limit the external circulation of information and will never use your personal information for purposes not specified in this Policy, except in the following circumstances:
² With your active authorization
² Necessary Service Cooperation
We may entrust third-party service providers to provide technical support (such as app crash analysis and server maintenance). These partners will only have access to anonymized information (such as de-identified device models) necessary to complete their work.
² Legal Circumstances
To comply with laws and regulations or respond to lawful requests from government agencies (such as investigating illegal activities), we may disclose relevant information in accordance with the law, but we will strive to strictly limit the scope of disclosure.
V. Data Security and Protection Measures
We employ a multi-layered protection system to ensure information security, but please note that no security is absolute:
² Local Data Protection
Data stored on the device is locally encrypted (using industry-standard encryption algorithms).
² Transmission and Storage Security
Anonymized data stored on the server (such as device parameters and usage statistics) is transmitted using SSL/TLS encryption. The storage system has a hierarchical access permission mechanism and performs regular security vulnerability scans.
² Risk Response
If a data security incident (such as an accidental leak) occurs, we will immediately activate our emergency response plan, implement remedial measures, and promptly notify affected users in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
VI. Your Rights to Control Your Information
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
² Right of Access and Correction
You can request confirmation of the processing of your personal information and a copy (including the source and purpose of processing). You can also request correction of inaccurate information.
² Right to Deletion and Restriction of Processing
You can request deletion of your personal information if it is no longer needed, you have withdrawn your consent, and there is no legal basis for such processing. You can request restriction of processing (storage without processing during the restriction period) if you object to the accuracy of the information or if the processing is unlawful. If deletion affects compliance, we will provide the reasons.
² Right to Data Portability and Objection
You can request the transfer of information you provide or process based on your consent to a designated third party in a machine-readable format. You can object at any time to processing based on "legitimate interests" (such as optimizing our services). We will cease processing unless there are overriding legitimate grounds.
² Withdrawal of Consent and Exercise of Rights
You can withdraw your consent to the processing of your information at any time. Exercising your rights may require identity verification. European Economic Area users who disagree with the results may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
VII. Third-Party Services
This app may integrate with the following third-party tools. Their information processing practices are independent of this app. We recommend that you review their privacy policies:
Analytics tools, such as Firebase, collect app crash data to improve stability and only collect non-personal information such as device model and system version.
Advertising services, such as Google Admob and Pangle, may display ads based on your device information. You can disable personalized ads in your device's Settings.
